Simulated Opal and Wood Tree of Life
The concept of a tree of life, a many-branched tree illustrating the idea that all life on earth is related, has been used in science, religion, philosophy, mythology, and other areas. A tree of life is variously:
a) A motif in various world theologies, mythologies, and philosophies
b) A mystical concept alluding to the interconnectedness of all life on our planet
c) And a metaphor for common descent in the evolutionary sense.
This "stone" is a piece made by another artist consisting of a new man made opal and wood all coated with Resin to smooth everything together. It looks like the aurora borealis being looked at through the branches of a tree. It measures approximately 1.5" inches (3.81 cm) across at the widest point and approximately 2 1/4" inches (5.715 cm) from top to bottom.
This pendant will come on a 27" black satin cord unless otherwise specified. I can place it on a 16" or 18" inch sterling silver chain as well for an additional $10 which can be purchased separately.
